Last week in Singapore and Hong Kong I delivered a speech at the Pacific Conference event on social media and public relations. The two-day events attracted 20-40 people in each city from a range of industries (retail, infrastructure, education). I was asked to counsel on how communicators can use social media to build the profiles of their CEOs.
As always people want case studies. And when you search for strong social media CEOs you find them in industries like publishing, software, consumer products or tourism. Rupert Murdoch and Arianna Huffington are classic examples from publishing (Huffington I believe pushes too hard – I unfriended her on Facebook because of the clutter). In Asia I admire the communications skills of Anand Mahindra.
